#1: Wooly Worm Festival
Have you ever raced a wooly worm? The Wooly Worm Festival takes place Oct. 15th to 16th and boasts a $1000 prize to whoever’s wooly worm climbs their string the fastest! Take in music and handcrafted vendor booths! Also, watch other hopeful contestants race their worms for a shot at the grand prize!
#2 Music in the Valle
Join other local music fans for Music in the Valle on Fridays from 6 pm till dusk. It’s one of our favorite things to do in historic Valle Crucis, North Carolina. Take in the breathtaking park scenery and enjoy eclectic music stylings until the sun goes down!
#3 Mast General Store
While you’re here, you have to visit Mast General Store in Boone, NC. They’ve got everything from food, clothing, home decor, puzzles, and toys! There’s something for everyone at Mast General Store! If you don’t make a point of stopping by while you’re in North Carolina, you’re missing out on a quintessential piece of NC history!
#4 Fall Leaf Peeping Hikes
Sometimes you just want to relax and watch the leaves change color. There are so many fantastic walking and hiking spots throughout and around North Carolina’s mountain ranges you’ll be hard-pressed to decide! A few of our favorite leaf-peeping sites include Blowing Rock, Chimney Rock State Park, Asheville, or even Beech Mountain!
