5 Best Summer Adventures in Blowing Rock, North Carolina

#1 Glen Burney Trail near Blowing Rock

Blocks away from downtown Blowing Rock, 3 waterfalls await your trek down the Glen Burney trail in Annie Cannon Park! Several path options allow for your choice of calm or strenuous hiking for an adventure in beautiful, luscious natural scenery! It’s a tough hike (think very steep natural stairs) so it might not be for everyone including very small children.

#2 High Gravity Adventures Aerial Adventure Park near Blowing Rock

#3 Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock

This family-friendly theme park includes an excellent three-mile ride through the North Carolina mountains on a real steam-powered train! Enjoy amusement rides, live entertainment, exciting shopping, and a wild west petting zoo! Make sure to come back in the fall and winter too – themed train rides are always a ton of fun.

#4 Banner Elk Stables

Who doesn’t love horses? Enjoy incredible, natural trails in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains near scenic Beach Mountain. With horses ready to ride for riders of every ability level, you’re sure to enjoy your time strolling through nature!

#5 Rock Dimensions Climbing Guides

Finally, are you looking for something more intermediate? Try any of three difficulty levels as you traverse the Discovery Course and conquer your fear of heights! If you have a thrill seeker in your group, this might be the perfect activity!
