You’ve decided to vacation in the most beautiful part of the North Carolina High Country – the Blue Ridge Mountains. During the day, depending on the winter/spring season, you can ski, snowboard, hike, fish, bike, the list goes on and on, and of course, you need the best places to eat.
Because one of the best things about going on vacation is going out to eat! No cooking, no dishes. Hooray! To get you started, we’ve pulled together a list of the 6 best places to eat in Banner Elk!
LP on Main offers refined American fare in an elegant and artsy space and definitely one of the best places to eat! Along with offering a full cocktail menu, they also get all of their fresh produce from local farms, meaning new seasonal dishes are offered all year long! Some of the unique menu options include bison meatloaf, poutine house-cut fries, and Scottish salmon. We recommend making a reservation and sitting outside on the deck!
Artisanal takes fine dining to a whole new level! Set in a beautiful rustic atmosphere, Artisanal is the perfect place for a romantic date or an over-the-top family celebration. They have an exclusive partnership with a local 100% organic farm and offer 3 or 4 courses for each meal option. Some of the delectable courses currently included are butternut poblano soup, roasted lobster, and buffalo trace ice cream. Expect to have every single one of your senses in heaven for this meal! The mister makes us a reservation every year for our anniversary, it’s a special spot sure to make everyone smile!
This one is a local favorite and has been locally owned since 1985! They pride themselves on their best chefs cooking up the finest cuts of beef found in prime rib, sirloin, New York Strip, and Filet Mignon, and their salad bar has become a must-stop for tourists. On top of that, the bread is simply amazing. Seriously, I would go there just for the bread, it’s that good!
Looking for something fun? Look no further than Bodegas. This casual restaurant boasts Caribbean-inspired food and tapas-style dining. Whether you have your whole family tagging along or stopping in for lunch, this restaurant is perfect. Their menu has plenty of choices: black bean soup, fish tacos, chicken fricassee, Paul’s pork bowl, and even a vegetarian portobello and poblano burger. My favorite is the fried Brussel sprouts served with a tangy aioli. Perfection!
Great food at great prices! In the morning, they serve a wide variety of espresso drinks, decadent breakfast plates, and delicious baked goods. The lodge also offers numerous sandwiches, burgers, and a great variety of chef’s specials for dinner.
Bella’s is our go-to breakfast joint! Every time we’re in town, we stop at Bella’s before heading out for the day. The mister loves the biscuits and gravy and I adore their egg breakfast with home fries and toast! It’s a simple menu that hits the spot for breakfast!
Banner Elk is a very small and quaint town and gets very busy! We were just at Clementine Cabin last week and still had to make reservations for dinner!
So don’t forget to call ahead! There’s nothing worse than being so ready for a nice dinner at a restaurant only to be told that they don’t have any spots available! I know from experience, been there, done that! Make your reservations well in advance!
And of course, if you need somewhere beautiful to stay in Banner Elk, check out Clementine Cabin! We have mountain adventures and relaxation for everyone at your party!
